Kelly's Surprise

Kelly's birthday was on Wednesday and it was a very busy day with scouts and young women, so we only ate cupcakes and went out to dinner. On Friday our friends the Fugals helped me surprise Kelly for his birthday. I made and stored his cake at their house and they helped the kids make decorations. We sent Kelly to the store while we decorated. I made him a piano cake and it was super fun to make. He was totally surprised. We ate lasagna for dinner and played Pin the Treble Clef on the Staff game. It was a great night and everyone had a good time.

Birthdays and Ball Games

Jacob Fugal, Cosette, Josiah Fugal, and Tyler at the Rockies Game and Tyler on his 10th birthday with his glasses.

September has been a very busy month for birthdays. My adorable, handsome, smart, funny, creative boy Tyler turned 10 this month. He is very excited to be double digits. His first present was a pair of glasses the day before his birthday. He looks so much older and very smart. Other birthdays this month were our friends Jenifer and Josiah Fugal, my sister Kathy, my mother(she passed away in Jan. and Tyler shares his birthday with her), and my mother-in-law. Kelly, Cosette and Tyler went with Jacob and Josiah Fugal to the Colorado Rockies game last night and had a blast. Ya! GO ROCKIES!!!!

A Stinky Disaster

The joys of being in the Nursery. Last Sunday we had to combine both the junior and senior nursery because a couple of the other leaders were gone. We were all sitting on the floor playing with the kids when all of a sudden I got a whiff of something stinky. I immediately said "I think someone is poopie." We could smell it near a group of kids that were near us. We proceeded to check all their diapers, but none of them were poopie. We thought maybe they had just farted. A few minutes later we smelled it again near the same kids and checked again but everyone was ok. It was time for cleaning up so we could have singing time. I stood up and looked across the room and saw the Stinky Disaster. A little girl who was in the far corner of the room was standing there with her hands covered with poo. She had reached her hands into her diaper. She also had poo on her dress, all along a plastic container that holds toys and on the wall. YIKES!! She was being so good and playing so quietly that noone thought she could be the one that was stinky. We quickly started cleaning her up and got the parents. I remember Cosette doing the same kind of thing to us when she was a baby. We went to get her out of the crib after a nap and she had smeared poo all over the wall.

Oliver Obsessions

My 2 1/2 year old is obsessed with the stairs in our apartment. He likes to go up and down , up and down, all day long. He goes up the stairs really good ,but then he likes to stand at the edge of the top stair. This makes me very nervous. His other obsessions are letters and shapes. He can't get enough of them. He knows all the letters and their sounds and can sing the ABC song. His favorite letter is W. He likes to turn it around and say "W,M,W,M. He is our very silly boy.
